By Michael Lawrence www.somethingmustbreak.net May 7, 2010 Oklahoma is close to signing a piece of
legislation into law that will effectively make it illegal to form a militia group. Most opponents say this will be
challenged as unconstitutional as it should, but will it really matter if this law exists or not.
Of course law
makers site Tim McVeigh and the OK City bombing as the need for such action. The irony is blowing up a building is illegal
anyway, so their logic must be that if this law were in place Tim McVeigh would not have joined a militia where he received
his inspiration to do such a horrible thing.
How many pot smokers do you know? I imagine that almost every
person in this country either has or knows someone who does or has smoked pot. There are laws that make it illegal to
do so, but has that stopped them from smoking pot? Likewise a law restricting the formation of militias will not stop
people from doing it. If you believe in something enough to take the time to form a militia I doubt a law saying you
can not is going to keep you from doing it. In fact it will probably increase the rolls of current groups and cause
more to form. Why? Militias are usually formed to protect the rights of one person or a group of persons, whether
that is the people, property or both. A law that says you can not do that is exactly the reason why people form them
to begin with, so it is only natural for more militias to form since this law is infringing on the rights of people.
I hope Americans are paying close attention to our politicians and not taking their words at face value. What may
seem like a well thought out law or plan can is usually nothing more than on the court trash talk? EDITORS
